There are so many ways our volunteers can make a meaningful difference, including:

  • One-on-one resident engagement – spending quality time chatting, listening, sharing stories and building connections
  • Mealtime engagement – spending time with residents during meals, encouraging conversation and creating a warm, social atmosphere
  • Bingo, games and activities – joining in with favourites such as bingo, board games, quizzes and other group activities
  • Resident-led activities – supporting residents to pursue their own interests, hobbies and ideas
  • Community outings – helping residents enjoy trips and adventures using our community bus
  • After-school volunteering – providing opportunities for younger volunteers to connect with residents, share their interests and bring some extra energy and fun to the afternoon
  • Companionship and connection – sometimes simply sitting together, having a cuppa and enjoying a chat can make the biggest difference
